Selecting the right box

Please make sure that you choose a box that will get your laptop to us safely. A few recommendations when selecting the right box:

• Always use a corrugated cardboard box

• Make sure that the box is at least two inches bigger on all four sides of the laptop

• Make sure that the box is at least six inches taller than the height of the laptop

Selecting the right packaging material

When selecting the packing material, please remember that the better material you use the more likely that your notebook with be delivered to us safely. A few recommendations when selecting the right packaging material:

• Never use newspaper as packaging material

• Whenever possible, wrap your notebook in at least three inches of thick bubble wrap

• If bubble wrap is not available, use foam peanuts (packing peanuts)

• Make sure that any accessories are also properly packaged to avoid contact with your notebook

Packing Steps

1. Place the laptop in a plastic bag

2. Place a layer of at least three inches of bubble wrap or foam peanuts on the bottom of the box

3. Place the laptop on top of the bubble wrap/foam peanuts, centered in the box

4. Place another three inches of bubble wrap/foam peanuts on top of the notebook, keeping the notebook "suspended" in the middle of the box

What to send with your notebook

Please remember that our goal is to get your laptop back to you as quickly as possible. With that in mind, here are a few recommendations on what to send with your notebook to avoid processing delays

• Always include your battery and ac adapter (charger)

• If available, be sure to include your original operating system discs

• Include extra items only if they are related to your notebook's symptoms

• Your full name and return shipping address along with any special instructions
